Great Interview---Must Read!

Great Interview **read**

So while I once was really involve in the ITF WTF conflict I removed myself, years ago from the argument. I think both sides have their weaknesses. But this article made me so happy. Reading between the lines it's great to see the OG Masters splitting with both sides and bringing TKD back to it's roots. I am from the lineage of two master listed so I was also excited to see that the way I drifted, mentally, was what they would support. Cool. The future will hold a complete transformation of TKD getting back to it's roots with in the next ten years, and I'll stand by that.

So ok I study the art of tae kwon do. Now if I were to come up to you on the street and tell you that, you along with, most of the people in America would think the same thing. Wow that is heck of an accomplishment. But you would joke and poke fun and test my patients. Trust me I know, that’s the reason I don’t tell many people that I study martial arts.
The first question I am always asked is am I a black belt. Yes, of course I’m a black belt but what does it matter. The real question should be “what kind of tae kwon do, do you study”. See most people just play tae kwon do off as a sporting event and not an effective system of defensive. When the actual fact is that tae kwon do was not designed for point scoring but for straight up killing. It’s a military art, and by that I mean its not an art at all. The essence of tae know do is true killing and attacking the vital areas.
For the past three years now I have studied the military aspect and there is nothing in tae kwon do that is not in muay thai and many others of the great fighting arts. I have focused on the vital areas and the typical and effortless attacks that might apply to those areas such as; the eyes, ears, mouth, jaw line, temples, corroded arteries, front of the neck, solar plexus, elbows, ribs, kidneys, below the abdomen, groin (not the balls), the inner thighs, outer thighs, knees and upper and lower shins. I have focused on the fingertip strikes for the really soft areas and many other simple hand and foot applications for the harder areas.
But over all I have always wondered things like, could I really affect a big man with this stuff, I was not sure. Well I can tell you now from experience that the things tae kwon do originally teaches, and in some remote places is still taught, is brutal. Tae kwon do can be a very effective art for any situation if it is learned from its original purposes. Don’t take my word for it, start looking in to it for yourself. Just a word for the wise, don’t look at the sport try to find the military teachings, even though its hard to come by.
